Shaun of the Dead
Running: 1 hr 37min
Main Cast: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost
Genre: Horror, Comedy, Romance
some of you should know by now, I'm one heck of a Zombie addict, any movie with Zombies I just got to see, even if the movie sucks although I tend not to like them.
Lemme start off by saying this movie was one of the most under-hyped movies of '04, due to low advertisment. I loved this movie from beggining to end, with it's excellent use of Foreshadowing, and irony it'll take a couple of views to figure some of it out.
So let me break down the plot, Shaun (Simon Pegg) is a mid 20-30 year old with no real goal in life, he's lazy (like me ) and pay's more attention to his loser flatmates; Ed (Nick Frost) and Pete, than his Girlfriend. So basically after being dumped by his Girlfriend Liz, out of nowhere the dead start to walk the Earth, Shaun basically comes up with plan to save his friends and his Ex. It does explain how the dead start to walk, but it's not really the point of the movie.
The movie is full of memorable lines, some hard to pick up due to the accents of the British but you should get most of the movie. The humor is used when apporiate and isn't immature, like South Park or Team America. It's a great mix of the Horror genre Romance and Comedy all blended into one great and memorable movie. There's some great Effects from Sound-Graphic, along with Dialouge. In all honesty it's one of my favorite movies of all time. I own the DVD, saw it in theaters. And it's one of the most hilarious piece of work ever done with the Zombies. All in all at least rent this movie, something tells me you'll enjoy it. One of the most under appreciated movies ever made.
BTW there a very little scares and the Gore is to a minimum. If you have any concerns like that.
