I've caught wind of system malfunctions and the system was just released yesterday. Not sure on the source of this one, but a member on the Nsider forum posted a quote from a guy who bought a 360, as did his five friends, or so I assume, since the quote stated he "bought 6 total consoles between my friends and I". Anyway, long story short, the guy said a bunch of them had hard drive failures, one scratched up his friend's game and the other made odd noises...the man who made this quote mentioned that only one system remained in good condition and it could be a matter of time till that quit.
So, for those of you wanting a 360, I may suggest waiting it out and getting one later, or getting a different console completely.
