Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Story 7/10 (70%): Synopsis from back of box: "After decades of alien oppression, a band of rebels rises up to fight against the Arelians. A new recruit, Jorel, becomes their leader, organizing the rebel forces to build a powerful army."
-So basically, you play as a group of humans to defend the earth against alien invasion. The game is a turn based shooter, but has story elements and customization that put it on the standard of RPG status.
Sound 7/10 (70%): Nothing special, but not bad either. Most of the game encorporates some random techno music, The sound effects are decent. It's certainly not a soundtrack that would compare to games like Kingdom Hearts, God of War, Katamari Damacy, Mario, Zelda, Final Fanatsy, etc. but for what it's worth, the music isn't half bad.
Gameplay 8.5/10 (85%): If you've ever played the game X-com on either the computer or the rare Playstation version, you should be able to pick up Rebelstar and play without any difficulties. Rebelstar is actually made by the same people who created X-com, so it's basically a handheld version of that great game. As mentioned in the first paragraph, Rebelstar features turn based gameplay, but also holds a pretty tight RPG type story and a system of leveling up and customization. If you liked X-com or Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, you should have fun with this game.
Graphics 8/10 (80%): Another aspect that's basically the same as the original X-com. The graphics aren't great, but they measure up. The following screenshots are pretty accurate to what the real game looks like, of course, screenshots are always a little poorer of quality than the real thing.
Replay Value 8.5/10 (85%): The replay on Rebelstar is fairly high. I could probably come back to the game after a few months and play it again. There are plenty of missions to complete, all with a scoring system which goes by percentage, there's a skirmish mode which can be played with either one or two players. Overall, it's a decent game.
Overall: 7.8/10 (78%)
